Why The Woman Should Let The Man Be The Pursuer

By chasing him, she will never have the romance and courtship she needs to develop strong emotional security with him, she will never be really sure how much he desires her, or how much he values her because he never had to prove it, he didn’t have to work for her. In his case, his sense of desiring and wanting her never got to intensify as it would have if he’d pursued her. By making herself freely available to him, by pursuing him, she has in essence cheated him of winning his prize and so it is easy for him to value her less.

~ Beloved Heart Musings and Journal ~

As much as western thinking would like to believe that in this twenty first century the playing field between the sexes is leveling, the fact is men and women do have fundamental differences that are meant to compliment each other in an interdependent way, and there is no clearer demonstration of this than in the rules of courtship.

When it comes to true love between a man and a woman, the process of discovering, and realising that love happens somewhat differently for both. Deep down, every woman wants to be romanced, she wants to be properly wooed, sought after, admired, desired, cherished, her heart won over by the man she desires.

For men it is the opposite. Men being highly competitive with each other, it is important for them to win and this is no more important for a man than when it comes to the woman he really wants…

5 Ways You’re Being Immature When It Comes to Love

ARABY

Broken relationships, estranged partners, unrequited affections – issues surrounding the whole idea of love would make up a list that can very well go around the circumference of this Earth – and catalyze thousands more poems and love songs in the disillusioned, deluded, and injured. Why do so many bad things come out of something that’s supposed to be so good anyway?

The myriad of ways that God explicitly instructs us to love Him and one another has always pointed to the myriad of ways that we humans have been doing it wrong.

In the infamous love chapter in 1 Corinthians, Paul claims that no matter the level of “spiritual maturity” we step into – have mountain moving faith, prophesy, and even speak the language of angels – all will ultimately amount to nothing if we…

Dear Guy Friend: I Want Your Wife to Love Me

Why I Advice Young People to Wait

Daniel Trinidad

Waiting“Waiting for the right time” is a really vague principle and maybe a cruel word for some young people. In a world where we have access to a lot of things, denying yourself  to have a love of your life has really become a virtue. Young people jump to romantic relationships for many reasons and many of them end up not in good shape. In my experience of counseling  young people about it, I often communicate these principles that I’m hoping they would be guided by. My wife also had a blog about this last year, but more directed towards women.

So here are my reasons why I advice young people to wait:

1. Waiting means preparing. You prepare for something or someone who is important. If that thing is not that important, you can just “wing it” because there is nothing really at stake. But if a person values…

12 Things God Doesn’t Want You Doing To Yourself. #4 Is A Mistake…

12 Things God Doesn’t Want You Doing To Yourself. #4 Is A Mistake….

God the painter

This morning, I painted a piece of carton to use as a cover on our window… just as I was done with it, I closed the paint bucket and cleaned the brush. I was about to put back the paint when the handle snapped! The paint went…

image

The paint was everywhere! And it was slippery, I kept on sliding but thank goodness, I did not fall.

I thought it was a bad experience because it was not planned and the paint was wasted (though I somehow saved some of it, scooped what I can back into the bucket haha!). But looking back to it, I just laugh! I realized how much I enjoyed the little experience.

This week is my finals week and all I was looking forward (not really) for today is my readings (lots and lots of it) for my exam. It was a rather dull morning for me. And now, I realized how God used the paint-incident to brighten up my day! It was indeed messy but everything worked out! The paint was a water-based one so the floor was spotless again after just spraying it with water!

Amazing how God can turn dull moments into colorful bright ones! Every time I remember this incident, it just gives smile to me. Thank You for always being there, giving us joy in simple things and making the weight light. ♥♥♥

How did God change your dull moments? 🙂

Fly with God

I always dreamt of flying. I was supposed to join my Tita for a vacation in Singapore but it did not happen. My passport was released late and it actually expired without even a single stamp!

This year, I joined our church’s annual prayer and fasting. Part of that p&f is to list down things I am believing God to do in my life. It was my third p&f but it was only now that it occured to me to pray for travel adventures, to “go to places”. ‘Go to places’ is quite general but what I meant actually were those with plane rides. This year was the first time I prayed this to God, the previous one was just plain trust in what we have and can.

I asked God and He granted it… immediately.

Last February (a month later), our class had a community exposure trip in Cebu. It was my first time to ride an airplane and I was actually so excited but I can’t let them notice it (mej nakakahiya haha). While in the plane and generally the whole trip, I kept on thinking how exciting, thrilling, and how blessed I am to be travelling with God! I felt so extra blessed that I started my travel adventures with God and it just brings so much joy and kiligs to me!

Then, out of nowhere, my Mom told me that we just have to wait for a definite date of flight to Singapore. I was shocked with her sentence (I am very particular with word usage, you see) and because of our financial, so I asked her… “WE?!?!?” And she said yes! I am going with them (friends) to Singapore!!! Isn’t it amazing? Isn’t it surprising? Isn’t it exciting? Galing Mo, Lord!! Kiligs! ♥

So my next flight is tentatively scheduled on August and it’s out of country! See you soon, Singapore! On a side note, I really should stretch for my travel pose, Scorpion!

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 1 Timothy 6:7

Too true, focus on God. He already gave His Son, Jesus, who is so precious to Him, for us. What more will He not give simple things to us, even if it’s for our enjoyment. Money is not a problem. If God allows, God provides.

Father, thank You for these opportunities. Thank You for Your love, I do not deserve any of these yet You still give them! Thank You so much! Here’s to more of heavenward adventures with You!! ♥♥♥

Shop ’til it no longer hurts

Image

As I was looking for verses to memorize and meditate for my situation this season, which so happened to be my thirst for God’s word and to have it daily, I came across Psalms 62:1

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him.

I was reminded of my past season when everything seemed to be falling apart. My dad was dying, my grades were flunking, and I was feeling alone despite the fact that I have my spiritual family. I was living in a condo that time because of college and the condo was just above the mall, which is just in front of our school.

Whenever I feel sad, I would go to the mall and shop. I shopped, shopped, shopped until my feet hurt. But this never gave me satisfaction. It never satisfied what my heart longed for. I have tried it, so if you think shopping will give you contentment or escape from your troubled heart, you are mistaken.

So come to God. He is our sweet refuge and He will give us rest. It is beyond any words can tell.

What did GOD feel?

John 3:16 – The Story of Love

While searching for some Christian shirts on facebook, I stumbled upon this post. I know it wasn’t an accident.

Have you ever felt that there are times when we are just too familiar with the Gospel that we become numb about it? We no longer feel the impact it has, the power of the message. Well, I’ve been there already. So I constantly pray to God to break that familiarity, that everything that will happen will just be refreshing and powerful and the impact will be like as if I never knew those things! So here it is, I came across this video.

When we talk of the Gospel, our focus is always on Jesus. Yes, the Gospel is about Jesus, that is true. But haven’t you noticed how the way we look at it is always two dimensional? What Jesus did and what it is for us. What about God the Father? Yes, we always say “God gave His one and only Son…” but that’s it. Do we really dig in on how God felt? In my case and in the case of many others that I know, we don’t. So here’s a video.

I was literally crying while watching it. I never bother to think about how God felt. I know He is God the Father but often do we forget that He is actually a father. So just like the other fathers, loving and caring, God can feel pain and hurt and He felt it when His Son, His ONLY Son, died to save others, others that actually have no idea that someone had died for them just to save them. Each and every one of us, Jesus is part of our lives whether we are conscious or not. He is part of our lives because HE DIED FOR US even if we do not know that. IT’S A FACT. And God, knowing that He loves His only Son, still CHOSE TO SAVE US THAN TO SAVE HIS SON. That is how much God loves us.

Isn’t it a great refresher? Eye-opener? Reminder? God loves us. He loves each and everyone of us. Do we notice?

Ignite 2013 — The Fire Within

Second day of Ignite 2013

First was Ignite 2011 and it only took a spark to start a fire…Now, we are to continue to fan the flame that God has started in us. As new school year starts, Every Nation strategical planned this event to remind and encourage the youth to share the most important message that the world needs to hear — the Gospel. Indeed, everyone was so encouraged and fired up! Everyone was even so excited that they cannot wait for the classes to start! Now, that’s really something! Even I cannot believe that we are actually so excited to go to our campuses and start the great rescue mission Jesus has called us to do alongside Him! It was amazing!!!

There were seven (7) sessions and what struck me the most was the one about Esther. “If I perish, I perish.” (visit ignite.ph for more about the sessions)

Jp Lacanilao doing Arvin’s and Kuya Tim’s face paints! This was just the second day! 🙂

I also want to commend the last day, Day3 Campus Night. In this, we got to represent our respective campuses so everyone got to wear their campus shirts or jackets. What’s amazing was there were so many campuses but one Spirit! It was not like the normal where campuses tend to compete and have that proud spirit. It’s only by the Spirit that we were united. Different campuses, One Spirit, One Purpose.

They gave everyone dog tags on the third day! Why? Because just like in the army where their dog tags give them their identity, the same goes here. This is to remind us of our identity in Christ!

The end of the event was just the beginning. The real thing happens in the campuses. S now, we are to honor God and make disciples of all nations, of all campuses, of all courses! 🙂
